The Sparta
people had the tradition of putting some testing to Sparta babies to see if the
child would serve as a good fighter. If this baby doesn’t passed this tests,
the Spartans knew that this little baby was not going to be useful as a warrior
and that he won't stand in a war. Knowing this baby wasn’t helpful for Sparta,
they killed the baby, but if the baby passed all the testing, he is immediately
trained to be a Spartan warrior. Spartan people wanted Sparta to be very
strong.
This movie, 300, is about a boy named Leonidas. Since he was just a kid He was trained to be a warrior and fight for his people. When he was already an adult, he became King.
The Sparta
army was really little. He only gathered around 300 warriors. One of the things
Sparta was really afraid of was the group of Persians that were in charge of
the arrows. They knew this group was pretty strong.
The battle
was hard and very wild. Persians crashed with Sparta’s spears, arrows and
shields. They never gave up always giving a step front instead of going
backwards.
The battle
was lasting longer than they expected. Xerxes realized that Spartans were doing
a great job; they were killing a lot of Persians. Xerxes decided to call the
group of warriors that he has saved. They were really strong and trained
warriors. Xerxes thought that with this group of Persians he had already won
the fight. This warriors gave their all, but they couldn’t beat Spartans. When
the fight was about to finish, they noticed that there was a traitor. This
traitor was Ephialtes. Ephialtes taught the Persians a path. This path could
carry the Persians with the Spartans without them noticing.
That’s why Persians
were going through water and through land. When they found out that Ephialtes
betrayed them, the battle took force and intensity again. This time Persians
beat Sparta. But the pride that Persians had obtained was better.
We can say that this move has a true story, but not
the WHOLE true story.
